INTRODUCTION
LifeLine Outreach is a non-profit Drug/Alcohol Rehabilitation and Prevention Center that was established in 1976 by Rev. David Hernandez, Pastor of the East L.A. Apostolic Church, Family Life Center. Rev. Hernandez himself a former drug addict and gang member, along with other ministers saw the need for a Christian rehabilitation program that would be open to all nationalities. A program that would be conducive in resolving the problems encountering individuals afflicted by the abuse and dependency of drugs, alcohol and or for those that need spiritual restoration.
SERVICE AREAS
LifeLine Outreach services the greater Los Angeles area as well as local jails and state prisons. We provide counseling and allow inmates to parole and be placed in our program. We make requests and recommendations to the court asking them to allow men to enter into the program under our care and treatment for the length of time stipulated by the courts or longer.
APPROACH
While the addict is at the home and in detoxification phase, we do not offer any type of synthetic drugs. We plan a program which will increase relevant knowledge, self-awareness and attitudes appropriate for the provisions of oneself. He and his family are encouraged to become actively involved in all aspects of the program. The addict, gang member or individual in need of rehabilitation resides at the home for a period of one year. The length of time depends on how well the individual responds to the program. Although the individual is encouraged to stay in the LifeLine Home until such a time as the Director feels he is ready to leave, he may leave whenever he desires.

FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK
As a product of LifeLine Outreach myself I know what it is to need help and not know where to go. I tried to do things my own way and they never worked. I came to LifeLine in July 1983 and wow, what a revelation! Here I discovered that life is a wonderful thing, and that I didn’t have to live an insignificant life, that God had a purpose for me. Now I’m helping others that are as I once was, lost and confused. You will rehabilitate through the revelation that you are somebody that God loves, that others will love and you’ll be able to love again also.
